Celebrate the Passion

What compels you?  What sparks your energy?  What creates your bliss?

Passion.

We’re talking about the stuff that lights you up, that inspires and thrills you, the stuff that feeds your soul.

You’ve got a choice: meander though life never pursuing your highest potential, or find the spark that resides within, waiting for life to be breathed into it.

That spark is your passion.
This is your time.
Discover it.  Follow it.  Celebrate it.

Celebrate the Passion is about people creating their dreams for the joy of the experience.  It’s about the various things that ignite their hearts, how they direct their passions and uncover them.

Celebrate The Passion is not about what you do, but why you do it.

Passion…Yes, over the past few years, I’ve become somewhat obsessed with it.  Taking the time to explore how it affects my life, I’ve seen how it’s evolved, or maybe it’s my understanding that’s changed.  What I know, is I spent a majority of my life with no passion, though I wasn’t really aware of it.  I just followed the same path as everyone I knew, where happiness lies in a nice car, a nice house and a good income.  This was the answer to life, and thankfully, I failed miserably.  I gave it a valiant effort, and had I not met and married an incredible woman, I could still be clinging to this idea.

The condensed version of my story is that I lived most of my life trying to be excited about anything I happen to be doing, which included a stint in the Air Force, went back to school and thought of being a teacher, and working in the transportation industry.  At the age of 32, I met a woman who lived her life in pursuit of passion, and while I tried to break her, she ended up winning the battle and showing me the light.  It all happened when she signed us both up for a photography class, and I discovered this thing called creativity.  Since that day, I too have been in pursuit of passion.

The first several years, I believed that photography was my passion and therefore fulfilled. It took me some time to learn that I’m far more passionate about people and their stories than the mechanics of photography. A camera simply gives me access to the people. After experiencing so many amazing stories, I decided to explore ways to share them with the world…Maybe spread a little inspiration while feeding my soul.

I’ll explore the idea that passion is not singular. Once you experience it, you begin to bring that energy to all aspects of your life, and seek out new sources.  Having a passion can turn a monotonous job into something you enjoy as it allows you to do the thing you love.  I really want to explore the world of passion in unexpected places. Find those people we experience in our daily lives, who bring a whole different energy to serving us a cup of coffee or ringing up our groceries, and what makes that happen. I have a belief that, more often than not, we will find a connection to passion in other areas of their life.

Off to explore….Feel free to contact me if there is someone I should be meeting!

This is my project, and what I hope to do with my life….Becoming more a storyteller with the camera, and sharing the stories of all that is good in the world.
